This is a list of restaurants my friends and I have eaten at over the years - most of them are located around the Los Angeles area but I've begun to post places in my new locale - New York (mostly Long Island and NYC areas as well as some places in Upstate New York). Some may not be the same anymore but some of them are, so take a chance and a risk. :) If you've been to some of these, feel free to add your own comments. Oh, and ratings are out of 5 loaves. :) Yum-yum! Let's eat!

Colosseo Pizza
Pizza doesn't get better than this around these parts. Colosseo has the best pizza for miles! Yummy New York style pizza. Location? Mount Sinai, NY. Bring some cash cuz they don't accept credit or debit cards. Rating: 5 loaves.

California Pizza Kitchen
I usually don't include big chain restaurants but considering I'm happy we have CPK to resort to when in search of good food in my area, I'm including this one on my blog! This is one of my favorite pizzas at CPK - the Jamaican Jerk Chicken pizza ! And I'm so glad they have a CPK here on the middle of Long Island!! This one is in Lake Grove, outside the Smithhaven Mall. Rating? I'd give it 4 out of 5 loaves. :)

La Casa Pizza & Restaurant
Location: Miller Place, NY. Type of food: Italian.
I don't know if this is a chain or not, but I definitely would not go here again - especially in light of what awesome food there is at O Sole Mio! The garlic knots that they serve you prior to dinner (after making you wait a very long time for them) was very very doughy....It's like they popped it into the oven just for a few minutes. Bringing back a "fresh" batch that was a bit browner did not make them any better really. The food was quite bland, except for the fried stuff (scallops, flounder, shrimp). Overall, it wouldn't be a place to which I'd return. Rating: 1 loaf

Sabai Thai
Location: Miller Place, NY. Type of food: Thai.
After a few disappointing eats of Thai here on Long Island, we have finally found one that will satisfy the craving when it hits. We really enjoyed our dinner here. But don't overstay your welcome as they kick you out precisely a few minutes before the closing time stated on the door. Rating: 3.5 loaves.

O Sole Mio
Location: Nesconset, New York (Long Island). Type of food: Italian.
This place has a take-out counter, sit-in-and-eat area, as well as a formal dining area. The food is fabulous and the portions are very generous. The bread they bring to your table is a must-try! But don't fill up on it if you want to eat your meal! I've been here several times and tried something new each time; and I must say, everything is always good. Rating: 5 loaves.

Gordon Biersch
Location: Old Town Pasadena. Type of food: Assorted popular (we went for steak).
This place is like a brewery. But we didn't try the ale. We just ate the food. :) It wasn't so great. Sylvia had the meat and I had BBQ salmon. I think the salmon was better than the steak. Oh, and get this... they didn't have any more steak sauce! It was only 6 p.m. when we went to eat!! How could this be???? Ah well. Can you guess how many more times we'll be going back there? Price range: $12-30. Rating: 2.5 loaves.

Hide (pronounced Hee-deh) Sushi
Location: West L.A. (on Sawtelle near Olympic). Type of food: Take a wild guess.
This place is always busy and the sushi is really good. We're starting to frequent it a lot more often than we thought. :) Price range: $4 - $7 on average for the sushi, depending.... Rating: 4.5 loaves.

Il Faro
Location: Marina del Rey, California. Type of food: Italian.
Great Italian food. More northern Italian. Everything here is delicious. The ambience is great because it's right by the marina. Service is wonderful. Price range: $10-20. Rating: 5 loaves.

Jerry's Famous Deli
Location: Marina del Rey and Westwood Village. Type of food: Sandwiches.
Someone once told me that this place has the greatest sandwiches. So we tried it out.... Not satisfactory to our tastes. You could probably get better sandwiches elsewhere. Price range: $6-15. Rating: 1 loaf

Joe's Crab Shack
Location: Redondo Beach (They also have other locations.) Type of food: Seafood
Very funky-looking place. Decor is pretty interesting. Pretty good food, but be prepared to wear bibs and be messy if you're gonna eat crab. :) Great place to take people on their birthdays cuz they make the birthday person dress up. Hee hee. Service is good. Price range: $10-40 (depending upon season and seafood). Rating: 3.5 loaves
